How soon can I begin receiving electronic
remittance files?
Many payers require enrollment to receive electronic remittances.
Time frames vary from 48 hours to 60 days depending on the payer.
Can I receive electronic remittance files
from multiple payers?
Yes - you can receive electronic remittance files from any payer on the ZirMed
remittance payer list.
Is there an enrollment process with the
payers?
The majority of the payers require enrollment of some form. Some payers allow electronic
enrollment, while others require paper. With our online Web Enrollment process, your
enrollment requests will be sent to us electronically. We can then fill out all the
enrollment forms and send them to you for your signature. That’s it, we take care of the rest.
How do I know if my practice management
system is able to process electronic remittances?
Contact your practice management system vendor and ask them if your system
contains an electronic remittance posting module.
If not, ZirMed’s Desktop Remits solution may be the answer.

Will ZirMed deliver a HIPAA compliant remit
file (835 004010X091A1)?
ZirMed delivers remittance data in the HIPAA compliant format.
Can ZirMed deliver electronic remittance
files in any other formats?
In addition to the HIPAA compliant format, ZirMed can deliver electronic
remittance files in five non-standard formats to fit the payment posting module
of your practice management system: ANSI 3051 4b; ANSI 3051 3b; ANSI 3030; NSF
2.01; and NSF 2.0.
Do I have to be enrolled in EFT in order to
receive electronic remittances?
The majority of the payers do not require you to be enrolled in EFT.
However, there are payers that do require EFT enrollment. Our enrollment team
will assist you in completing the EFT enrollment forms for those payers that
do require EFT enrollment only if they have access to those forms. If they do
not have access to the EFT enrollment forms, you will have to contact the payer
for instructions on how to enroll in EFT.
Will I continue to receive paper EOBs if I
begin receiving electronic remittances?
Our expanded Remits service will allow you to print EOBs directly from the web
site. Most payers will continue to send paper EOBs but, there are those payers
that do discontinue this after enrolling for electronic remittances.
In the near future, many payers will discontinue paper EOBs
altogether.
